Mathematical Framework for Mixed Reservation- and Priority-Based Traffic Coexistence in 5G NR Systems

چکیده

Fifth-generation (5G) New Radio (NR) systems are expected to support multiple traffic classes including enhanced mobile broadband (eMBB), ultra-reliable low-latency communications (URLLC), and massive machine-type (mMTC) at the same air interface. This functionality is assumed be implemented by utilizing network slicing concept. According 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP), efficient of this feature requires statistical multiplexing and, time, isolation between slices. In paper, we formulate solve a mathematical model for class Access Network (RAN) algorithms that simultaneously include resource reservation priority-based service discipline allowing us incur fine granularity in processes different aggregates. The system based on queueing allows parametrization accounting specifics wireless channel impairments. As metrics interest, utilize K-class session drop probability, pre-emption utilization. To showcase capabilities model, also compare performance guarantees provided URLLC, eMBB, mMTC when multiplexed over NR radio Our results demonstrate trade-off dictated offered load highest priority sessions: (i) it small, mixed reservation/priority scheme outperforms full mechanism; (ii) overloaded conditions, reservations provides better isolation. strategy beneficial aggregates with short-lived lightweight sessions, such as URLLC mMTC, while only works elastic eMBB traffic. most important utilization improved up 95%, which 10–15% higher compared reservation-only still providing types.

Priority - Based Dynamic Packet Reservation for Tdma

In this paper we investigate the problem of dynamic bandwidth reservation over the uplink of TDMA-based wireless networks providing prioritized services. The proposed multiple access protocol has the following salient features. First, it supports multiple levels of priorities. Second, it optimizes a unique cost function, that consists of a weighted sum of allocation "Deviation" functions, on a ...

Resource Reservation for Mixed Criticality Systems

This paper presents a reservation-based approach to schedule mixed criticality systems in a way that guarantees the schedulability of high-criticality tasks independently of the behaviour of low-criticality tasks. Two key ideas are presented: first, to reduce the system uncertainty and advance the time at which a high-criticality task reveals its actual execution time, the initial portion of it...

Reservation based protocol for resolving priority inversions in composable conveyor systems

A reservation based protocol for resolving priority inversions in decentralized realtime systems that are useful in the domain of advanced manufacturing is presented. The problem of priority inversions is well-known in the real-time systems literature. When there is prioritized access to shared resources, it is natural consequence for a low-priority task to be serviced before a high-priority ta...
